A career in construction is a future in one of Britain’s largest industries. There are hundreds of
exciting and diverse career opportunities within this challenging and rewarding industry. The range
of construction courses at Filton College allows you to gain access to Higher Education or into
employment in the UK’s biggest industry.
Construction is also the country’s biggest export and it keeps on growing. The UK’s construction industry is respected around the globe and generates in excess of £1 billion a year. With a reputation for world-class design, inspirational architecture and the highest quality building, working in construction is a career of which you can be proud of.
Recent national major projects have included Wembley Stadium, the Olympic Village and the redevelopment of Bristol City Centre. One in 14 people already work within construction. There are many different routes into the construction industry, and Filton College offers courses and progression opportunities for all levels.
Students on construction courses will have access to hand skills areas and develop practical skills in at least one trade: brick and block, woodwork, plumbing, and electrical trades.
